Will leads Collective Voice, working with the board to set strategy, and across sponsors and the wider sector to deliver advocacy and collaborative work.

Before working for Collective Voice Will was Local Systems Lead in the Joint Combating Drugs Unit, a cross-government unit set up within the civil service to design and oversee the government’s drugs strategy.

Will has worked on the issues surrounding alcohol and other drugs from a range of perspectives throughout his career – first as an academic researcher looking at alcohol policy and people’s drinking practices, then working in local government as a commissioner of drug and alcohol treatment services.

He was one of the founding members of the English Substance Use Commissioners Group, has been a trustee of Alcohol Change UK, and is currently a trustee of the New Directions in the Study of Alcohol Group.
